I felt that this was the type
of track that was needed to start the album off
properly. Basically, this is what I'm about with
my rhymes.
This is basically an overview
of what I was feeling for the whole scope of the
album. I welcome you and now you know what's about
to take place. Now let's begin...
The song was not made to offend,
but to inform. I felt a song of this nature would
grab the listener's ear and open the listener's
eyes simutaneously...No Disrespect Meant
I wanted this song to sort of
be an anthem. I wanted to try and flip styles while
at the same time spit thought provoking lyrics...
Self-Explanatory!
This was the very last
song I did. There was no practice or cleanup. Just
straight spitting
I imagined having a conversation
with god and this is what I came up with.
which is it?
What can I say? I just
wanted to be on this track when I heard it...
Impeccable. Study the
format and you will agree... ain't no other audio
You can never say you didn't
know my name...
My dad died before the release
of this album. I had to express my thoughts on this
song...R.I.P.
I had to let my emotions run
wild. I held no punches...
This is breaking down "the system"
and how we are programmed to think...Thanks for
the support. I hope you enjoyed the course...
I started to name this album
"Colleague of Contradiction" because I felt that
there is so much contradiction in this album. This
album exposes not only me, but the human being that
I strive to be and the state of what we as a people
are...justifiably.
Where
do I finish?...First, I must thank the God in all
of you for sticking with me on this project. I gotta
thank my family for giving me the guidance to come
this far. Mom and Grandmother, my "First Ladies"...
I know you perceive it as noise, but this is good
food for your thoughts once you read between the
lines. Jo, you're a diamond in the rough, I Love
You Queen. Brotha's Brotha's...Thanks for the late
night rides, listening and thought provoking conversations.
That journey to Max's is no joke. Will, Thunder,
Two, P, JD and Sam, Harold's is on me once this
blows up...Sam and Will, this is for our Dads. We're
making moves...Our dads would be proud of that ...Sam,
thanks for the album designs...www.dipolmaticsolutions.com
for the best graphic art! Also, Sam thanks for the
talks when my Dad died...I owe you. Max, all I can
say is thank you for your patience and advice. You're
a pleasure to work with. It's time to make history...Murray,
st Pete, Ill ben you've looked out for me and I
appreciate the blessings. Grizz. You've been like
a brother to me through the chaos, Thanks. To the
cats over at Ants...much love. Rio, thanks for the
cut you gave me for the album photo and advice.
Harper Ave. Barber Shop - Respect the men for what
they do. For those that doubted...we'll pretend
it never happened. To those that I missed, you've
been missed and not forgotten. Thanks. This album
is "Starring the Proletariat Community." Working
class, decide your fate while you're awake, so you
will not meet defeat while your asleep.
Respect
Due - Frontline Magazine. Ya'll keep me on point.
Don Diva and F.E.D.S. ya'll are the ear to the streets.
Akil, I love your work Bruh. Novacain, Qwazaar,
M.A.J.O.R.-Dope albums. Thanks to the forefathers
for paving the way for me to make an album of this
caliber. Added respect to Common, No ID, J.U.I.C.E.,
Dug Infinite, O Type Star, Sean Lett, Twista, Do
or Die, 3 Piece, True Enuff, Frontline, Nacrobats,
B-Boys, B-Girls, DJ's, Emcees, Graf Writers...Let's
keep this moving. All Power to the People. Depression
is nothing more then creative tension waiting to
be released. Let's stay positive. Love, Peace and
Fish Grease...
