The intro. The intro's got to
be dramatic, that's why there are tympani drums.
Also tom/tympani rolls, they too are very dramatic.
And cinematic. It's got to paint a picture or create
the soundtrack to various things in life. This intro
isn't exactly what I started out to make but nothing
really is, you know. My favorite track on the first
rye goalie cd was the intro. It was one of those
tracks where when you're done making it and you have
no idea how you did it. I still have issues with
this song but you've got to let go. These songs
have to grow up on their own, have their own adventures,
etc, etc. Whatever.
I got this whole "tape" theme
going on here. I also use the word "got" instead
of have too much. I tend to say "can I" as opposed
to "may I" also, what are you going to do? Anyway,
the tape thing.
The first rye goalie had a record crackle
beginning so I kicked it up a notch (bam!) and went
to cassette. There is something nice and chunky
about the physicalness and portability of cassette
tapes.
