8:30 am busting through the doors to the halls where
I roll again and then go home again full of spunk
and testosterone gun trying to be the one 'cause
it's cool dude retreat with food just to eat and
beats just to beat and new shoes for feet but everywhere
I go he goes steps on the toes of those who oppose
the views of regular joes with no doe not jock egos
making your head grow but making you dead though
all over one ho no that's not the way it goes but
it goes like this got to school high just smoked
a spliff floating through the halls feeling bigger
then shit lockers on my side people all in front
of me I move 'em like the red sea and see the sight
of she right in front of me looking back at me eyes
attacking me fingernails crashing me rapidly fantasizing
up fantasizing down but I know by the time prom
rolls around I'll be having the panties down having
you scream my name real loud and give old dude a
beat down
now the moon's turned red better
watch your head I come from the land where they
dig up the dead next the rivers turned bloody check
the body see if it's family or buddy buddy I may
be hoody I slay thee crack dropped like glass joe
smack there goes your elbow that's the end of the
season reason for your scheming dreaming of your
screaming I've been meaning to give you a reaming
seeming to think you're the top jock rocky like
you're man of the block cock of the walk nothing
like ashes dashes sizzles and splashes like sparks
over water burn brighter and hotter I thought chicago
should've taught her
with her hands folded she told
him cold wind stoled him concede to recede repayment
deed for deed don't blame me develop to bleed weed
definitely carried shoulder load heftily decayed
left messily confession incongruent been proven
forget I said it loveless like unleaded unbelievably
direction in question my mention causes eyes uncomfortable
stunt frontable situation unsettling meddling friends
yours been here before could not not happen haphazard
status free hate like gratis debate my madness decidedly
stubborn confided in summer something sure fronting
name's st pete you can't compete
take a seat enjoy the show flow be spontaneous blaming
this on dust can we bust skills a must trust conquers
all fear steer in the right direction pull hearts
out with no affection caught up by detection at
O'hare pay fare court costs lost in the wilderness
fuck with the rest light a mess from the midwest
test and end up failing flailing your arm struggling
hugging in redemption no question section off cough
lung inside take a ride with the devil underground
level smooth like bevel with typography can you
see clearly 20/20 visionary scary like carrie 2
the rage in a cage watching flicks not chicks but
women get wet like swimming what we giving it all
not raw we friendly send thee one love blessed from
above fly free like a dove
chin up sneak out stop to follow
nothing never doubt slipping still to deep find
little to keep listen up so I won't have shit to
repeat must reach jump near explore mind keep real
never allow attempts to steer us fear

High
school. This song's about high school. Let me get
more into the story of Miranda, as I see it.
The year is 1983. This girl,
Miranda, moves to a new town (for town names I considered
Newport, because it referenced the cigarettes and
it implied that it was coastal, but then just left
it out for want of not being too specific). She
becomes friends with the crew of hot but annoyingly
evil girls. Main Guy tries to push up on Miranda
but her friends say no. She gets with this jock
type dude, or "dude" rather . This song takes place
after the Main Guy tries to call Miranda for some
awkward phone talk and tries to ask her out. I haven't
decided yet if they go out and the "dude" fucks
with Main Guy or what but the bottom line is, this
song takes place at school and "dude" tries to punk
Main Guy.
Getting punked by "dude" is
an important element because it sets up the next
song.
In the second song Main
Guy asked Miranda out for pizza. While they are
out at pizza "dude" (I think I want to call him
Brad, what do you think? How about Dude-Brad?) shows
up with his crew and throws Main Guys tray of food
around and whatever, that's not cool.
