This song deals with the concept
of calling a girl for the first time and all the
anxieties that go along with that.
The samples from the intro are
from one of the 2 movies that inspired the album,
although stealthily cut to remove the characters
names and the specifics of that movie. I think the
dialogue expresses the concept of a deceptively
evil girl. Not evil like animal murder but evil
like she's got that look in her eye like a predatory
cat. That look is so hot.
Growing up in the 80's my parents
had a rotary phone. This big white monster and I
even think the receiver was larger then normal.
The Turkish Revolution, aka
anderegg, came over one day around 2 pm with a 40
and a notebook. He wrote and spit this verse, which
includes the line "I'm a meteorologist". I had a
class in college that was taught by TV's own Rick
DiMaio from the local FOX affiliate. At the end
of the last class he asked me if I had learned anything
and I said yes, you inspired my friend to rhyme
about meteorology. He then asked to have a copy
of the song and I said sure but never got him the
cd, which is probably for the best.
I wrote the singy part at the
end but I can't (or rather couldn't) write singing
shit so it's more like a list of words, per my usual
rhyming scheme, but sung at a slower tempo and made
to sound like it's coming from the phone. |
