cordelia your my sweet
cordelia
if you kiss a whore she'll fall
in love with you
one bird said to the other I
kind of like your style one word after the other
they flew for miles and miles
where will you spend
your nights forever getting smashed who will be
your true friend after the party's crashed
take
this as you will truth from a sleeping liar winter
it's been known to kill snow men set on fire
how
will you spend your days when your memories fade
what will open your eyes destroying this disguise
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I am in love with this song.
Or rather, I used to love it, now we are just good
friends.
Again, Danny sounds like Mick Jagger
History:
Danny and myself are kicking it in St.Pete's room
(this was when we were living together) and we were
talking about this piece of shit that we knew who
had started to dip into whores. Not pretty whores
but, you know, real whores. Like the kind that hang
our near or under a bridge. It came to light that
he had received a blow job and an asshole licking
for $30 (not a bad price !). The discussion then
progressed to him kissing the whore while her breath
was fresh with the taste of his ass (delicious!).
But alas, one does not kiss a whore. Why? Because
if you kiss a whore, she'll fall in love with you
(we all saw "Pretty Woman"). The song concept was
complete and all that was left was to make the actual
song, which is the easy part. The original song
was going to primarily consist of "If you kiss a
whore, she'll fall in love with you" but I had this
beat I was working on for the Rockin' Uranus album
and it was named "cordelia" after one of the moons
of Uranus (not my anus). Boom boom boom, the song
changed into more of a "cordelia" focus and less
of a "whore-kissing" focus. While Danny wrote the
lyrics, I made the beat. I did help with the line
about winter, but only enough to earn my co-writing
credit. The reference to Cordelia from Buffy/Angel
is not to be missed, I do like both of those shows,
but this song is not specifically about the moderately
lovely Charisma Carpenter (She plays Cordelia on
those shows, FYI).
